Junior Chef Day Camp 2024

Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 10:00am - 6:30pm. 

Spots are available for 10 kids between approximately the ages of 7-12 to participate in a plant-based Junior Chef Day Camp! 

Children will attend a team meeting, prepare a plant-based 5 course meal alongside Mike and Casey Easterling of Grandma's Kitchen, learn to set a table, create place cards, serve dinner to their guests, receive beverages, snacks, & meals during the event, receive an event shirt & hat, and receive a recipe book and certificate of completion. 

Please note: Children must arrive with long hair pulled back. 

Five Course Menu:

•    Appetizer: Focaccia

•    Soup: Chicken Noodle

•    Salad: Mixed Greens Garden Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette featuring local organic greens from Montour Market & Muddy Fingers Farm

•    Entree with Sides: Sloppy Joes, Macaroni & Cheese, and Green Beans

•    Dessert: Chocolate and Vanilla Cupcakes

Agenda:

•    10:00am: Arrival with long hair pulled back

•    10:00am-12:00pm: Team Meeting during Breakfast, Cooking &

Baking

•    12:00-12:45pm: Snack followed by the creation of place cards for their guests

•    12:45-2:30pm: Cook & Bake

•    2:30-3:30pm: Lunch featuring the children's food creations, Supervised play, and a Group Photo wearing Junior Chefs shirt and hat

•    3:30-5:00pm: Prepare for guests' arrival and enjoy a snack

•    5:00pm: Guests arrive for a Five Course Dinner prepared and served by the children (Additional family tickets are available for the five course dinner. Two tickets per child are included. )

•    6:30pm: Dinner & the Day Camp conclude

All Vegan/Plant-Based: All items are vegan/plant-based and made with love at Grandma’s Kitchen. Menu is subject to change based on availability.

Local Ingredients: Menu features local produce from Ever Green Farm, Muddy Fingers Farm, and Silver Queen Farm. Menu also features Crystal City olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

Parking: Ample free lot parking is available. Park and enter where you see the Regal Movie Theater entrances and go up to the Food Court on the second floor. Grandma's Kitchen Arnot Mall is located in the former Friendly's.

Accessibility: An escalator and an elevator are available to access the second floor. The restrooms are accessible and within Grandma's Kitchen on the same floor. Because Grandma's Kitchen is in a former Friendly's, the tables are built in booths. Wheelchairs are able to be accomodated at three of the tables. If you require an accessible table, please indicate this during the event registration process or email us at grandmaskitchenarnotmall@gmail.com.

Beverages: Soda, iced tea, juice, and other beverages will be available for purchase during the event.

Cancelations: If you need to reschedule or cancel, please contact us as soon as possible and we will do our best to help you out. If you pay with PayPal, PayPal retains their fee in case of a refund. 48 hours before the event, we are no longer able to offer refunds because we will be busy cooking and preparing for you. If there is availability, we may be able to switch you to a different seating at the same event. Otherwise, we can offer your meal To Go.
